Visiting St John the Baptist

The Church is open daily and visitors are most welcome to come in and feel the peace of the place, and perhaps offer a prayer.

The graveyard is separate from the Church, and can be found in a field on the other side of the road.(Please be sure to close the gate behind you as there may be sheep in the field).

Services are normally on the fourth Sunday of the month, at 6.00pm in summer months and 4.00pm in the winter, please check our service page for details.

As Christians our full purpose in life is to worship God, not just on Sundays but every day of our lives.  When we gather together, we sing hymns accompanied by an organ, listen to scripture, gather around the Lord's table to receive Holy Communion and we offer prayers for our own needs and the needs of the world.  To read more about what to expect visit the Church of England website.

The service generally lasts about an hour and our Church community will greet you to make you feel welcome and ensure you have everything you need to join in worship with us.

During the Church year we hold other kinds of worship that follow patterns from Common Worship, such as Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival, Remembrance Sunday, an Easter Vigil with Lighting of the New Fire and a Palm Sunday Procession.  Sometimes these are held outside the Church building and are especially enjoyed by families in the village.
